The Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) from China is building a battery factory on the outskirts of Debrecen, within the area of the Southern Industrial Park, which bordered by Debrecen International Airport, Main Road 47, Main Road 481 and Tócó Creek. Batteries will be manufacture for electric vehicles in the plant. The greenfield project will be built on 220 ha in several phases. For the implementation of the project, our company prepared a Soil Investigation Report and a Geotechnical Design Report in the first half of 2022.

In Phase I of the development, approx. 65 ha will be constructed in the southern part of the area. The main production building will be a single floor hall with a reinforced concrete frame, covering a floor area of approximately 227 300 m². Most of the other buildings and facilities is also with reinforced concrete frame, typically one or two floors high. Nine of the buildings have a floor area of between 10 000 and 100 000 m², while the remaining buildings are built on areas of less than 10 000 m². The high load industrial floors will be supported by rigid inclusion soil improvement technology.
